Dear Pádraig, Jacqueline, and all the infinity Crew,
Thank you all so much for an excellent weekend. I was expecting it to be a difficult weekend of swimming but I didn’t think I would enjoy it quite as much as I did. It completely exceeded my expectations and was a perfect blend of challenging, inspiring, motivating and fun!
I was so impressed by the way your team worked so well together to put together an amazingly smooth and safe event. With all that the weather threw at you, there wasn’t even a moment where anything seemed to go wrong – you roll with the punches like a well-oiled machine and adapted to changes as they happened in a well-considered, swiftly planned, and clearly explained way.
It feels so reassuring to be kept safe by a team like that, and so heartening to feel that you all really love what you do. It’s contagious!
I feel 100% more ready to face the North Channel than I did this time last week, and whether or not I make it across, I’ll know that coming to Hit the Wall was definitely the right thing to do and the most impactful part of my training. As a lovely, unexpected bonus, I got to meet three other lunatics on the same tide as me and it made it feel like the solo swim has turned into something of a team event! It has buoyed me up to a fresh sense of optimism and excitement for the continuing journey! Thank you again for all that you do, to infinity and beyond!
Looking forward to seeing you again in a month or so.
