I took on the most challenging swim I have ever done 22.5k from Victoria lock to the helli hunter marker bouy at the start of carlingfordlough. The training was done the mind was right we were hoping for perfect conditions but that was not to be. After the first hour mother nature decided that my swim would take place in some of the biggest chop I have ever had the pleasure to swim in. The waves were pounding the boat and my body , but my mindset was strong we remained calm and inch by inch we battled the sea . I can say now I’m glad the conditions were rough I found reserves I never knew I had found strength of mind and body that I hoped I had . A fantastic swim and I enjoyed every second. It would not have been possible without the help of my wife and kids Ernet Alfie and Ava anything is possible with you 3 behind me you were in my mind for the entire swim I love you my whole hart nothing is possible without you ❤ 💙 ♥. To my crew Jacqueline McClelland Padraig Mallon Milo Mccourt Andrea Judge you kept Me safe with expert piloting guidance and feeding, coaching and your support as always second to absolutely no-one .
