All greased up and ready to go on the start line, but crazy sea conditions meant the Battle of Carlingford was cancelled at the last minute. Disappointing, but a great call, for sure!
Back to my accommodation to shower, thinking I wouldn’t be racing today, to hear that the course has been moved and we’d be racing after all, so a run to the start, change of suit and re-grease and I was ready to go! 😁😁
Still the same distance, 7.5km, but three laps of a 2.5km course instead of the 7.5km, straight down the Lough.
Rough enough out at the back end and definitely not an easy swim, but loved it!
Really happy to come home with first female and a HUGE shout out to my training buddy @mroscarblack who SMASHED it, running away with first male skins! 💪
infinity Champion of Champions
Totally awesome day. 🥰 Brilliant event! 8km this morning, 5km this afternoon and 2km this evening, for an over all time.
I’m buzzing to have finished the three as Female Champion of Champions and my training buddy Oscar, just 14 years old, again dominated the waters, taking the over all Champion of Champions (He’s seriously, seriously one to watch! 💪💪) and the ridiculously impressive Brian, also junior, on his heels.
The absolute best weekend with these two, so much fun and great competition! 😁😁😁
Now just our 6 hour swim together tomorrow morning! I’ll bring the chocolate buttons! 🤣 can’t wait!
