My journey with Infinity Channel Swimming began years before I ever entered the water to swim the North Channel. From my first conversations with Padraig back in 2017, through the years of preparation, questions and planning, right through to finally making that crossing on the 6th of August and finishing on the 7th August 2026, Infinity were there every step of the way.
Swimming the North Channel had been a lifelong dream, and completing it in 17 hours and 12 minutes was one of the most remarkable experiences of my life. It was also a challenge that demanded complete trust in the people around me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team.
Jacqueline was always there to answer questions, offer advice and provide reassurance along the way. On the day itself, Barry, Milo, Andrea and Jenni were outstanding. Their professionalism, experience and support gave me the confidence to concentrate on the swim, even when the conditions, tides, cold water and jellyfish made things difficult.
My wife, Jayne, was also a huge part of the crossing, keeping me fed, hydrated and monitored throughout those long hours.
I will never forget arriving on the Scottish coast in the early hours of the morning, with the lights flashing from the shore and people waiting to welcome us home. It was a moment I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
I have said many times that the people who share these experiences with you become part of your story forever. Infinity and their crew certainly have a place in mine.
I am hugely grateful to Jacqueline, Padraig and the entire team for helping turn a lifelong dream into reality. I would recommend Infinity Channel Swimming without hesitation to anyone considering a channel crossing. You’re not simply putting your trust in a boat and a crew; you’re putting your trust in people who understand what the challenge means to you.
Thank you all. I’ll never forget that day, or the people who helped make it happen.
