We advise all swimmers to receive a medical check after the swim.
infinity Channel Swimming will liaise with ILDSA to arrange your observer
Boat 1 2 3 4 5 are not physical boats. You will be allocated a specific boat when you are given your final go ahead for your swim.
If you are a Relay team and have booked into Slot 1 you will only be able to swim in a Slot 2 regardless if you have booked Slot one through our online booking system.
Slot 2 if a solo swimmer booking will be given the opportunity to move to a slot 1 in order of booking date.
A Solo swimmer will always be given advantage of the better weather.
All infinity vessels are ribs which we have specifically chosen for their high speed capabilities for any emergency - medical attention with speeds of up to 38Knots. They offer slow taxi speeds. Infinity vessels sit low to the water which is convenient for feeding and for communication with you. With these favourable factors the compromise is perhaps less on board facilities than other channel boats. eg: there is no toilet / kitchen facilities on board. See infinity shop page for links to order flasks for hot water.
If sea conditions change the pilot may ask you to change position and swim on the opposite side of the boat.
Prior to swim:
Physical meeting with you prior to your window opening where possible.
Zoom meeting can also be facilitated if a face to face meeting is not possible.
Communications with pilot on board:
It is very easy to distract the Pilot. Communication is preferred through the infinity Crew on board.
infinity Channel Swimming will commence communications with you from 2 days before your swim window via WhatsApp group. You are welcome to add your crew to this.
Updates will be between 11:00 and 19:00 daily and if a decision is made for a swim at short notice by phone call to swimmer.
We are happy to take calls at any stage through the swimmer / swim team lead.
Your window opens at 00:00 on the first date of your window and closes midday on the last date.
Final decision regarding this is with solely with Pádraig and is non-negotiable.
There will may be some part of your swim in the hours of darkness so you need to be prepared for this. A Night light is required to be worn: eg: adventure light. Must be set to static not flashing.
Final decision regarding weather is with Pádraig.
Swim course is the sole decision of Pádraig.
There are various swim course options from Scotland to Ireland / Ireland to Scotland.
Majority of swims commence in Donaghadee.
