La Bocaina Strait – Lanzarote to Fuerteventura.

Completed the Strait of Bocaina swim today from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote (the Canary Islands - Spanish about 100k from the West coast of Morocco). The shortest distance is 10.7km - so I'll go with that to avoid any negative "distance comments". It wasn't an ideal day for swimming: strong swell/copy from the East with 1.7m wave height and 22 knots of wind from the South-East. Actually a poor day to be in a 7 meter rib. I used info@offshoresherives.es who did a great job.
I was on holiday in Lanzarote and it was the logical swim with poor conditions all week. There are two great things about swimming in poor conditions. First making the swim is even sweeter. Second when the conditions in your next marathon swim "freshen up" you can tell yourself that they were worse before and you started then knowing it...
