Carlingford Lough is a glacial fjord or sea inlet. On its northern shore is County Down, Ulster and on its southern shore is County Louth, Lenister. At its extreme interior angle it is fed by the Newry River and the Newry Canal. With majestic views of the Mourne and Cooley mountain ranges this is a challenging and invigorating point to point swim.
